Our new paper ” Effect of flow profiles on the flow subjected to oscillation forcing: an example of droplet mobilization in constricted tubes” in collaboration with Dr. Wen Deng’s group at Missouri S&T is now published online on Journal of Hydrology.

Shuaijun gave a sound-bite presentation about his work on transport of soft particles in porous media at the 12th Northeast Complex Fluids and Soft Matter (NCS) Workshop at Manhattan College. Ali and Chunsheng presented two posters about their respective work on dual-gel 3D culture model and development of nanoporous film. Well done, everyone!
Our collaborative work with Zi Chen’s group at Dartmouth College entitled “Porosity-tunable structures with “fossilized” bubbles” has been accepted for publication in ACS Applied Polymer Materials. Congratulations!
Dr. Fan co-organized and chaired the first Flow and Transport in Porous Media Symposium in SES (Society of Engineering Science 56th Annual Technical Meeting, Oct 13-15, Washington University in St. Louis). Shuaijun presented his work on “Fluid flow with suspended soft particles in porous media” at the meeting. Well done!

Dr. Fan received an NSF grant to study the packing structure and stability of foams and emulsions in microgravity. In collaboration with Prof. Charles Maldarelli, and our implementation partner, we will develop microfluidic platforms for this study and send them to ISS National Lab!
